I find this very interesting. I consider myself a fledgling hippie. People have different views on hippies, and I think it depends on where you live, and if people are more conservative or whatnot. I consider hippies people who want to enjoy life, relish in the good ol' tunes, the great outdoors, thoughts about philosophy and how to live a better life, and protecting the earth. Also not shaving their legs :)

To Wild Water Man (love that name!) who asked, "I’m just curious, what reliable knowledge do you have that suggest that creativity is a means to know the divine?"

The aspect of God (divine energy) as 'Creator of the Universe,' is reborn in every human being. It is the expression of that aspect that brings us closer to the source of all divinity. If you're looking for absolute, concrete proof you must find that within yourself.

Being a hippie is one way to express freedom, life and self. It is brave expression because being a hippie means having a courage to accept the criticisms of a conservative society. We know that there are norms in the society which categorized into acceptable and unacceptable norms and being a hippie at an older age is not acceptable. That's why I salute to those who express themselves despite the standards in the society:)
