Cinnamon and Honey Weight Loss Tea

Organic Cinnamon
Cinnamomum cassia
I don’t know if it works, yet… but I found this cinnamon and honey idea on a news site from India along with a list of other healthy cinnamon and honey ideas. It is from Ayurvedic and Yunani medicine.
The article says that to lose weight, we should make a tea of honey and cinnamon. The author suggested that we boil honey and cinnamon in the water, but I am more inclined to add them to boiled water rather than boil them. Then drink one cup in the morning, about half an hour before breakfast on an empty stomach… and drink one more cup of this tea at night. I’ve tried it a few times and the tea tastes great. I would drink it more often!
Anyhow, the article goes on to claim that if consumed regularly this honey and cinnamon tea will reduce weight by not allowing fat to accumulate in the body even if a person eats a high calorie diet. I hope this is true, and will try it for the next month. I’ll let you know if I lose any weight this way.
I’ll be posting more about honey and cinnamon cures in the future. I like easy and quick home remedies that can be found in my country kitchen pantry.
[Update - 2/7/09: There have been a lot of helpful, informative comments posted here. Please take time to read through them before trying this tea. I found another site with more information comparing real cinnamon to cassia: Fake Cinnamon? The cassia contains a "potentially harmful" substance called coumarin. Small amounts are safe for humans to use because we metabolize it into 7-hydroxycoumarin. It is possible that more than a teaspoon daily could be too much for some small people. Coumarin is an appetite suppressant so possibly cinnamon cassia is the one to use, in moderation. Also see Diabetes and Cinnamon/Cassia.]
This is what is called “true cinnamon” … click on the picture and go read the advertising copy. It is very informative!

I just want to add that the article I found has also been reprinted on other websites around the internet but I chose to refer to the site in India because it is the only one that gives the author’s name!

I was wondering if you have lost any weight & how much since you started the “tea”? I have been drinking it for about a week now, but I don’t have a scale at home so I’m not sure if I have lost weight. I didn’t have any measurements for the honey & cinnamon so I’ve been using approx. 1 tsp of cinnamon & about 1-1 1/2 tbsp of honey.
Thanks for any information.

I lost about five pounds, but then quit drinking the tea. I probably should start again. The tea was easy to make and tastes great.

Hi. I read all the wonderful comments and decided to try it. I love it!! I have one problem though. After the first few days of everything going really well, I made up a batch and it went all goopy in the bottom. the honey and cinnamon went like slime. it really put me off and since then even with different cinnamon and a new jar of honey I still had the same response. Can any one help me? thanks
Comment by Dianne Bowley — Monday, March 3, 2008 @ 8:51 pm
Dianne, I think that’s how it is supposed to be. Probably the bulk it creates by mixing honey and cinnamon together is part of the reason it is effective for weight loss. Cinnamon and honey help remove appetite because the stomach feels full.

It’s interesting to hear that you’ve lost weight before on this tea; I tend to regard these things as so much snake oil. It seems I need to be a little more open-minded. Anyway it will be interesting to follow your progress!

Would like to try this but would prefer to know the correct portions of honey to cinnamon and water. Did read comments so far and like others have almost same questions. What do you use to strain and can you make large batches to save doing it daily.
Thank you and will reply with news on weight loss. I have a wedding to attend in one month so this may just do the trick.

Well.
I tried it and it works great.
The theory behind drinking it warm is its effectiveness. The warm water aids in proper digestion.. clearing/ melting the fact and effective absorption of the nutrients in to the blood. Its similar to flushing a drain with hotwater.
Moroever preparing it fresh is recommended. I tend to boil the water now along with Honey and Cinnamon.. Earlier, I used to microwave a glass of water. Again microwave is a bad choice to heat/ or cook something.
Cold water or ice ain’t good for the stomach to start with and is not recomended especially after or during food. I quit on Ice water completely about 8 months now and it makes a difference.

Dorothy, use boiling water, just like you’d use for tea.

Thanks Merry… I would like to find that original recipe. Do you know where it is?
Comment by Linda — Monday, March 31, 2008 @ 7:06 am
RAW, UNCOOKED honey must be used for the best results. Also, don’t add the honey until the tea mixture (hot water and cinnamon) have had 30 minutes to sit (covered). I don’t strain it - but if you prefer, you can. Add the RAW honey only after the water had cooled for 30 minutes. Don’t reheat the refrigerated mixuture (the other half) the next morning b/c the hot water kills the enzymes in the honey, making it ineffective.
If this isn’t working for you, you probably aren’t using RAW honey, are adding while the water’s too hot or not making the mixture each evening. It doesn’t take that long, and it works! Keep in mind that once your system is flushed out (clean colon), you will stop losing weight. Then it’s up to you to keep the weight off - proper diet, exercise, etc.
I stared at 140 lbs. and have lost 6 lbs. in just 2 weeks! I’m thrilled.

I read about the cinnamon for high blood sugar (mine was to high) and decided to try it, along with more whole grain items in my diet. I went to the dr. last week for more blood work, and my sugar levels have dropped by seven points. I have been doing this for a few months. I can’t guarantee it was the cinnamon, but I am going to continue until my next visit in July to see what happens. I also plan on trying it with the honey. Thanks for the information.

Comment by Deanna — Thursday, April 24, 2008 @ 6:30 am
Couldn’t you also use green tea as a substitute to water, to increase the weight loss factor. I was drinking green tea everyday and was losing weight before I had my first child. I now use it in thier kool-aid and in everything I make that requires water. It just adds the extra benefits to it.
Just a thought.

Was wondering if anyone experienced symptoms of nausea? I tried the tea for the first time this morning and felt quite ill after drinking a full cup. I’m not sure if this is normal or if I’m releasing toxins????? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Comment by Jac — Wednesday, April 30, 2008 @ 3:40 pm
Jac, I’ve never had that reaction to cinnamon and honey. I wonder if it was because of the type of honey you used.
Comment by Linda — Wednesday, April 30, 2008 @ 9:52 pm
I used regular store bought honey. I have purchased some Manuka honey today and it is supposed to have advanced therapeutic qualities. Maybe I felt so ill as i had an empty stomach and had felt hungry for quite a while prior to drinking the tea???
Comment by Jac — Wednesday, April 30, 2008 @ 10:36 pm
I hope the sick feeling doesn’t continue, Jac. If it does, I’d cut down the amount of cinnamon used.

Comment by JANE ZaM — Wednesday, May 7, 2008 @ 6:16 am
I have been taking this mixture for two days now and after reading your comments I have this to offer - strain the water and cinnamon mixture - don’t put that gob of gook in yr stomach - it will make u sick - I strain mine a couple of times thru the seive and lastly thru a coffee filter and it works really well then add the honey. I make a double batch and put mine in a large mason jar with a cover and keep it on the counter.
I am a huge sugar fan - I crave sugar!! This mixture has reduced my cravings for sugar immensely!! In the past two days I have not eaten anything sweet at all and have no desire to do so - perhaps this will help me to lose weight. I have seen nothing yet with regards to a colon cleanse but I have been told it will take a couple of days for “any movement” so to speak!! haha! Also there is no change in the scale with regards to weight loss BUT I am losing inches because my pants r loose so I am going to give this at least a week or two and will report back to you.
If nothing else it reduces the sugar cravings and tastes really great!!!
Good luck to all of u I know how hard it is to loose weight!!!

The “Honey and Cinnamon” tea is great. Lost six pounds in the first ten days.
I use “Watkins” cinnamon because it is naturally sweet. Better then the bitter stuff from the store. You won’t find it in stores; you need to find a dealer that sells it. Call 800 operator and ask for “Watkins Products” number.
Comment by Eloise — Wednesday, May 14, 2008 @ 4:50 pm
Hi Again,
I don’t strain the mixture. I keep a jar made up with half honey and half cinn. I put a heaping teaspoon of it in a cup of almost boiling water. I stir it several times, let it cool some, and drink it with a stir here and there. It tastes great with the sweet cinn.
Raw honey is best. Processing destroys the good parts of the honey (have forgotten what they are called).Cinnamon does help your blood surger. 1/4 t per day is all you need. Also helps lower cholesteral. I also add a spoon of the mixture to oatmeat or anything I want sweet. Even use it on toast without butter. I have heard too much will give the runs slightly but have not had that happen.

I was sent an email last week about the honey and cinnamon cures and I did some research on the web and some people were saying it was a myth because honey will store as fat when drinking it before bed? I have only tried it for a few days now and do not notice a difference as of yet but will keep drinking it. I am just a little concerned about the amount of comments that it could actually cause you to gain weight because the honey will store in your system and because you drink it before you go to bed that it will turn in to fat. Are there any websites I can go to that can explain way they may be incorrect.

I have been drinking this tea for almost a week now. I haven’t noticed any weight changes, but I don’t have a scale.
I use #33’s recipe, but might try #8’s, just cause I like the tea so much! I don’t filter it either. I did read on earthclinic.com that whatever recipe you use, you should keep it 1 part cinn to 2 parts honey. (so 1 tsp cin to 2 tsp honey, so on).
I ate fastfood the night I started this, and the next morning, I did get really sick and was in the bathroom all morning. But I have noticedif I eat healthy during the day it doens’t have this effect at all. So it certainly cleans everything out.
I also don’t have cravings for the sugar anymore, and I’m addicted to sugar, so that says alot!

I made the tea again, this time not adding so much cinnamon and with the water, cooled down a bit from the boil. Seems okay now,. IMPORTANT: I visited my Chinese Medicine doctor last night for another matter and when I told her about this, she let me know that if you put the honey in boiling water, you kill the natural and essential enzymes in it. As well, the honey needs to be unpasturized for that reason.
The proper way to make this tea is by steeping 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for about 30 minutes in 1 cup of water first. Once the mixture becomes room temperature, add 1 full teaspoon of honey and then drink. You can put half in the fridge for the morning for the next day, but do not heat it up. I must say so far, in only 3 days, my abdomen is shrinking already with no major side effects. Hmmm. My thoughts: Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, but psychologically I choose to believe it does and it sure is curbing my sweet tooth! Good luck to y’all and I’ll keep you posted.

You can get Watkins cinnamon on ebay. I’ve been using another brand, but will try some Watkins.
I’ve been drinking the tea for a little over a week. Haven’t noticed any difference in weight, but will continue for a few weeks. The first several days I drank it, it didn’t turn to slime. Bought a new bottle of cinnamon and now dealing with slime every batch, and unsuccessful in straining it. I’ll try the suggestion above and strain it several times through a sieve, then a coffee filter.

Hi. I started drinking the cinnamon and honey tea last week and lost 4 kg in that time! Not sure if it is because I am also combining it with apple cider capsules before meals. I also drink about 2 l of water a day. The issue about the honey is to use raw honey, as it still has all the enzymes that work towards weight loss. Treated honey is basically useless due to the radiation process it goes through. The other thing is not to boil the honey - it also loses its good properties. So what I do is I put 1 tsp of cinnamon in boiling water, let is steep for about 5 mins and then add 1 tsp of honey to the water. That also addresses the issue of the slime situation. Hope it helps! I certainly am continuing with this!

Saksi, I too have PCOS. Just stop if you do get pregnant - honey is not good for pregnant women, esp. unpasterized which should be used in this recipe.
Just had a baby 3 months ago, so looking forward to trying this tea.
Anyone try it with green tea yet?
Comment by Carol — Monday, October 6, 2008 @ 5:36 am
If I don’t filter the cinnamon tea, are the particles that don’t dissolve of any value to the body? Would that boost the weight loss effect? I have just tried for a couple of days and I do feel a difference (my imagination?). Lost 1 lb, but maybe that is fluid loss. Are either of the ingredients a diuretic?
Comment by Cindy — Tuesday, October 7, 2008 @ 9:00 am
I started the tea mixture last night..
*NOTE:The honey used needs to be REAL RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY. If it says PURE honey it is most likely pasteurized. It is best to only buy honey that says RAW or UNPASTEURIZED on the label. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey.
Cinnamon and Honey formula for weight loss:
This should be prepared at night before going to bed.
1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to 1 tsp honey is recommended but can use more or less as long as in the ratio of 1 to 2. — so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey is ok too as an example.
2. Boil 1 cup…that is 8 oz of water.
3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour..(30 minutes)
4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.
6. In the morning drink the other half that you refirgerated…but do not re-heat it…drink it cold or at room temp only.
Do not add anything else to this recipe. No lemon, no lime, no vinegar. It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day…it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.
This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost…but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion…causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH) Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.
Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released…if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.
Additionally people report increased energy, more sex drive, and feeling happier/mood enhancer.
I didn’t mind the taste.. and I didn’t strain it..Happy weight loss everyone:)

I have been drinking the tea mixture for weight loss for 3 1/2 weeks and I haven’t lost a pound! In fact I think I may have gained one or two lbs. and haven’t “shrunk” in inches at all. At first it seemed to really help my digestion but now I’m back to my same old sluggish digestion. Why isn’t it working?
Comment by Nene — Tuesday, October 21, 2008 @ 8:04 am
My friend and I just started this yesterday in hopes this might actually work. Neither of us have a problem with the taste and we’re pretty much following what #86 said to do. We’re going to give it at least 2-3 weeks to see if there is anything noticable from it. My short term goal is to lose at least 10-15 lbs. by the holidays. If I can lose a little more than that, I’d be extremely happy. I do have a long term goal, but am trying to focus on short term goals and then at the end, I will hopefully have reached my ultimate long term goal. We shall see and I will post something after 2-3 weeks. Good luck to everyone else!

The original recipe is:
1 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp cinnomon-good quality
1 teaspoon raw honey
boil water - remove from heat steep cinnamon for about 15min
add honey and stir
I use a small fine mesh sieve to strain all particle out of tea

the recipe can be doubled or tripled accordingly -
Sounds exciting! I hope it works…I just started yesterday and will report any favorable results, thanks

Thanks for the clarification, America. I think it is important to remember to use RAW honey (not store processed clear honey) and also REAL CINNAMON… not CASSIA which is sold and labeled as Cinnamon in the USA.

I make the tea before bed and really enjoy it warm. However the cold serving in the morning is very difficult for me to get down. Can we still get weight loss results by drinking the full cup each night? Or does it have to be twice a day?
Comment by dAd — Wednesday, November 5, 2008 @ 8:10 pm
Doesn’t the results of drinking this mixture depend on everyone’s diet? Some say it works others say it doesn’t. What are your diets consisting of besides the tea? I already have raw honey, but will need to find cinnamon that isn’t cassia? I will post again to advise when I start and update as needed! Thanks and good luck to all.
Comment by selfesteemrox — Wednesday, November 5, 2008 @ 10:42 pm
aisha - the cinnamon and honey combination is good for a host of other ailments… asthma could be one of them.
dAd - I don’t know of any hard fast scientific evidence for how this diet works. I don’t know why you would need to drink it cold in the morning. Why not warm?
selfesteemrox - cool screen name! I’ll bet you’re right that diet does affect this… I don’t think just cinnamon and honey tea will help if someone is eating donuts all day.

It is very good to see the results that so many people had with this remedy. Cinnamon is not good just for weight loss. It has so many other health benefits and you get all of them while loosing weight. Keep something in mind though. Cinnamon has something called cumarin. This is not water soluble. So if you are taking a lot of cinnamon don’t use the powder. Boil few sticks of cinnamon in water and drink the tea. But if you are pressed for time this is not a solution. Find the real cinnamon (ceylon cinnamon) powder. Ceylon cinnamon has only 0.004% cumarin compared to 0.5% in cassia (cinnamon sold in north america unless it is labelled ceylon cinnamon). Here is the link for health effects of cumarin:

I cannot hide anymore the reason I know so much about cinnamon. I grew up surrounded by ceylon cinnamon in Sri Lanka. If you check the internet and check where the best cinnaon in the world is; it is around my village I grew up. My father came to Canada to visit us in 2006 and saw what is sold in stores. he convinced me to import cinnamon from Sri Lanka and sell. Right now he is very dissapointed in me that I haven’t sold his cinnamon. If you send me an e-mail to true.cinnamon@rogers.com with your address I can see if I can deliveer you some.

Your blend sounds much tastier the the senna tea that I use.
Comment by Denise Long — Wednesday, December 3, 2008 @ 4:23 pm
For those of you who are getting slime, you are adding the honey when the water is still too hot. Be sure to use RAW honey and never heat it as heating (pasteurizing) kills the “good” enzymes.
Boil your water, put 1/2 tsp of cinnamon in a cup and pour the water over it to steep for about 30 minutes. When the water has cooled, then add the honey. It will stir right off the spoon pretty quickly even in tepid water. Refer to the recipe in post 86. After some vigorous stirring, I don’t have to strain mine.
Also, as far as concern about “North American” cinnamon goes. Apparently the harmful agent which can cause problems occurs of a rate of .5% in “our” cinnamon whereas the rate for Ceylon Cinnamon from Sri Lanka is .004%. This substance is only a problem for “some” people and “may” cause totally reversible liver issues leading to jaundice. However, bear in mind that !/2 a teaspoon a day is considered a high dose.
Personally, I started off with the stuff I had in the cabinets and have had such a profound change, that I am searching out the Ceylon in order to use the recipe long term.
Comment by gigi — Thursday, December 4, 2008 @ 10:51 am
hi i was wondering the cinnamon can it be the sticks or does it have to be the powder ?
Comment by a fat depressed 22yr old — Tuesday, December 9, 2008 @ 12:07 pm
would it still work if i used cassia not ceylon?? :/
Comment by Jaidyn — Wednesday, December 10, 2008 @ 10:13 pm
I think most of the people have used cassia. So it should work. If you are using cassia do not use powder and bold two to three sticks and only use the tea. Cumarin in cassia (0.5%) or in Ceylon Cinnamon (0.004%) is not water soluble. Therefore, if you are making tea from sticks of cassia you are safe according to the information in books. I import Ceylon Cinnamon to Toronto. I can ship within canada if you want any ceylon cinnamon.

I have been trying this mixture for about two months now and I’ve only lost about 4 pds. There are so many different posts on how to mix it that I’m not sure if I’m doing it the right way. I’m currently making a paste out of the two, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp honey. I think I’m going to let my cinnamon steep for awhile and then add the honey. I’ll let you know if I see more of a difference. I will say that I can tell a difference in my mood in the mornings, I feel more alert.

i started 3 days ago, haven’t really been tracking my weight but will start. the tea is delicious.
I have been making 1 Cup of it at night, drinking half and refrigerating the other half to consume first thing in the morning. I am wondering if i really need to be refrigerating it or if i can just keep it in my glass bottle with the top on at room temp?
also, I tried a coffee filter with not much success.. now i am using a strainer which is faster and keeps most of the “sludge”(precipitated cinnamon) out. i don’t mind the little particles that stay suspended in the solution, it is the yuck at the bottom that i don’t feel like ingesting.

I would be a little cautious about any claims that by drinking this or any other beverage without changing your lifestyle (i.e. maintaining a high calorie diet) you will lose weight. Are there any published reports? We sell an herbal weight loss tea blend that helps adjust your body’s natural metabolic process but if you don’t change the fundamentals of your lifestyle you are treating the symptoms and not the cause. Remember at the end of the day the calories coming in must be less than those you burn throughout the day otherwise you will be storing energy as fat.
Getting back on topic though, honey and cinnamon make a wickedly great tea…especially if you add some nutmeg to the mix!

Once I drank the tea my headache was gone…puff just went away.. does anyone have any explanation? If this a natural cure for my monthly headaches, I am definitely a believer.
thanks in advance

Cinnamon/Honey is recommended for MANY conditions and will have many beneficial side-effects. This is the first I’ve heard of curing headaches… thanks for the comment about it… I often get headaches and will try this next time.
Comment by Linda — Friday, February 6, 2009 @ 5:59 am
Nina, I agree with Dan… I exercise almost every day. I don’t think the tea alone is going to make a huge significant difference. Exercise is what makes the body change shape, if you want to look healthy.
Comment by Linda — Saturday, February 7, 2009 @ 4:14 am
Lovey, I’ve occasionally felt sick after drinking cinnamon honey tea, but not always. You might want to vary the amount you use. If your system isn’t used to it, it may make you feel nauseous in order to say ’something’s wrong’. I’ve never heard of anyone having an allergy to cinnamon or honey but I suppose it could happen. Remember coumarin in the cassia is potentially harmful if too much is used. In very moderate amounts it is an appetite suppressant. Maybe cut your intake to 1/4 teaspoon morning and evening?
Comment by Linda — Saturday, February 7, 2009 @ 4:15 am
Hi there I’m excited to try this, Congratulations to those of you that have lost a significant amount of weight, I truly hope that I see the same success, I have ideally 50-60 pounds to lose. I have a question, I work in the restaurant business as a manager and have to be on the floor for the majority of the time for guests needs etc. Is this something that will keep me in the restroom or is it more of a appetite suppressant? I would love to start this tomorrow…any feedback would be great. Thanks so much.

Comment by Susana — Monday, March 16, 2009 @ 8:50 pm
Susana - Honey needs to be RAW - if it says “Pure” it is not what you want. I found mine at a Merchantile store, health food or farmers market would probably have what you need. Cinnamon powder from costco is probably not what you want either. Look at your label if it says “cassia” you have the wrong stuff. I read where the Watkins can be found in Walmart which is what you want. Would find the true cinnamon at the health food store too.

Hi there, Cutegirl… yes, I’m very busy right now… spending hours in the garden preparing it for the veggies that will be grown there… and then at night I’m so tired.
I honestly don’t know where to get raw honey in India. I didn’t realize you were in India. Here in the USA, all the honey in super markets has been processed. Maybe it isn’t that way in your country. Here, to get raw honey, I either have to find someone who is tending bees and selling it, or I go to a health food store to buy it. Do you have health food stores in India?
I think probably you have a lot more healthy food supplies in your country… the USA has some serious food problems right now. Tonight I heard that there are more than 10,000 processed foods in the USA containing aspartame, a poison. Also we have fluoridated water - also a poison. I think our government is trying to poison us…!!

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I started this and it’s been amazing! I use raw, unprocessed honey, and lately have switched to “Really Raw” honey that is whitish in color, and has all the crunchy stuff (propolis, etc.) in it. I use organic cinnamon, and I also make it with green tea (decaf at night). I am sorry to say I don’t weigh myself so I don’t have an amount of weight, but my tummy fat has been disappearing like crazy, and I have lost 1 size (so must be about 10 pounds). I probably weighed around 150 lbs when I started, and I am 5′4″ so I definitely a bit overweight. Maybe smaller people won’t notice as much of a difference. My husband and son have noticed and are also going to start the tea tonight! Anyway, add boiling water to 1/2 tsp cinammon and a green tea bag, and take out the tea bag after about 10 minutes, 20 minutes after that I stir in the RAW honey AFTER I have strained the cinammon water with a soup strainer into another cup.
I’m a true believer…ALL my pants are loose on me and it’s been about 3 weeks. I haven’t changed my diet or exercise (I walk sometimes, and garden). But I also don’t eat a ton of crap. I’ve cut out soda and only drink water, but I still have my coffee with half & half AFTER my green tea/cinammon/honey in the morning. I’ve not been eating huge portions of food for quite awhile. I snack on chocolate ofen, and just eat regularly, but have not had any luck loosing weight until this. I will continue to update, but it sure helps the “muffin top” I was getting with my jeans! I also love the taste!

I am fixing to start this diet. I read that you drink it in the morning 30 minutes before you eat. I am not much of a morning eater. Although I am up by 5:30, I dont usually eat until about 11 or 12. Will this have any effect? Also I do enjoy drinking beer on the weekends. I guess that would slow down the process huh? Feedback would be helpful. Thanks

Linda,
I must agree with your opinion that the government is trying to poison us. Did you know that asperatame was created by Donald Rumsfeld’s company? The head of the FDA would not approve it, so Bush fired him and put someone in who would approve it. We’ve got pesticides, herbicides, chickens being fed asenic, cows being pumped full of growth hormones & antibiotics (after becoming a vegetarian I haven’t become sick once, and would I always get sick), chem. trails, fluride (which was first used in nazi concentration camps to subdue the people), vaccines, and countless other things (I don’t even want to go into the pharm. industry). We live in a culture of death. They are trying to kill us. They’ve said it themselves, they want to reduce the world population to 500 million. You might be interested to check out Dr. Carley’s website. Well I know one thing, I’m not gonna go out without a fight. Just one side comment, I read your bio and right on for not owning a cell phone, I would love to get rid of mine (did you know that they can listen to you through your cell phone even when you’re not using it?).

Hi - I started this on Friday night, and since then have lost 2.8 lbs.! I have been exercising about 5x per week for almost a year now, and following a specific eating plan since the end of Feb. At best, I’ve been able to lose about 3 lbs. in a week. I’m not absolutely certain, but I’m guessing the tea is helping! Thank you! I just wanted to mention a few things I have discovered: The Watkins cinnamon is not the Ceylon cinnamon that is supposed to be used - it is the cassia, as well (I found this information on their website). I haven’t been able to find the Ceylon cinnamon yet, and have just been using the cassia up to this point; You can purchase empty tea bags to put the cinnamon in (try the health food store) and seal with a hot iron - steeping it in the boiling water in the tea bag will greatly reduce the amount of cinnamon powder in the bottom of the cup, and eliminate the need for straining. I’ve also discovered that I can do this at bedtime and let it sit in the cup overnight. Then I just reheat the cinnamon water in the morning for 45 seconds in the microwave (so it’s not too hot), and then stir in the honey. I don’t have a lot of time in the morning to sit and wait 30 min. for it to steep and cool, so this works very well for me. I also don’t have to worry then about the slime that is mentioned in some of the above posts. I don’t like the tea cold, anyway.

I’m not sure if I lost but I know I’m able to fit into a pair of jeans I was not able to fit for three years. I don’t want to mislead anyone, I am getting up every morning at 4:30 and doing 2 miles on the treadmill, then an additional 1 mile in the evenings (sometimes), I walk well over 10,000 steps everyday, with the exception of Sundays. Weighing myself on the scale may not work for me, scale at home said 134.5lb. and scale at doctor’s office said 130lbs. I am also incorporating the points system from weight watchers, I have slacked off a bit with WW bacuase of the cinn/hon. tea. I will advise back in a week if I see more improvments.

I have been religiously following the cinnamon + honey tea since a month now. I have felt more energetic and started to have good sleep at night, but have not seen weight loss on the scale. I am very much inclined to believe this works, but why is it not working for me? I am using raw honey and adding it only after the cinnamon tea cools. Can someone please advise?
Comment by DD — Tuesday, May 26, 2009 @ 9:18 am
I too am following this cinnamon and honey tea religiously. I am feeling really good. I have not noticed any changes in my weight like some of the others, buy please don’t dispair! Like everything else, I don’t think anything that really works and that is healthy for us happens over night or in a week or two. I am giving this a three month try..what do I have to lose, nothing and I already know it’s helped with my Cholesterol, on March 3 it was 207 and as of last week it is now 56, quite an improvement. So if the weigh coming off is going to be a little longer, so be it, I really like how I’m feeling. Have to admit, not liking the tea too much but for all the other benefits, it well worth it. A friend also advised, using the raw honey will help with allergies and to be honest, I def. feel an improvement in that area. I have slacked off a lot with my my 10,000+ a day but slowing getting back on tract. I too, thought this was an overnight weight reducer or at least within a week I would have noticed a big drop on my scale..which reminds me, I really want to throw mine out the window. But I have not gain any weight, Memorial weekend, burgers, ribs and potatoe salad, let’s not forget homemade ice cream. Listen all, it’s worth a try at least for the internal benefits…think the weight will start coming off a little slowly in the beginning. Will continue to update.

Tetley, I’m not qualified to give medical advice - though I can’t see how this would harm your baby while breastfeeding. If you’re concerned about it, ask your child’s pediatrician.
Comment by Linda — Tuesday, June 2, 2009 @ 4:40 am
I tried the honey-cinnamon mixture & experience less appetite, also better bowel movement. I have taken the mixture for 10 days but haven’t seen any weight reduction yet. But..I remember having lots of dinner invitations and wolfed down on homemade brownies and cheesecakes sent by my sister in law..and just like poster no 203 (Karla) said..I didn’t gain a pound at all! So, I think I will still use it and reduce my food intake along with 20-30 mins exercise per day. I will report again after 2-3 weeks or as soon as I get good results!
Comment by isis — Wednesday, June 3, 2009 @ 4:55 am
Karla: I have not noticed an improvement in bowel movements, but I didnt have that as a problem earlier. I have started to feel as if the fat in my abdominal region has loosened a bit…but its still there…the weight scale hasnt moved…
Comment by DD — Wednesday, June 3, 2009 @ 5:16 am
@Tetley: I trust this Cinnamon + honey recipe 100% - BUT I would not take it if I were breastfeeding…it would be good to postpone it until you stop feeding your child….Anything that a mother consumes, comes out in her milk. Since this recipe is a said to contain coumarin and acts like a detox, why take chances?
Comment by DD — Wednesday, June 3, 2009 @ 5:20 am
Hi all, kinda lost this site for a few days, don’t know what happend. Anyway, I too am not seeing much difference on the scale, but my bathroom trips are different. I have ran out of the honey three days ago so I must stock up later this afternoon. One lb. jar only lasts about 2/3 weeks. Again, I’m trying not to be discouraged, must keep it up. After reading about cinnamon or honey by themselves, they really are very good for us. I really think we should throw our scales out the window…when I step on it and I either don’t see a change or the number has creeped up a decimal point it really upsets me, but the fit of my clothes is the test. I have to tell you, when I put on a pair of pants and it’s loose especailly in the waist area, I feel great, but if I go directly to the scale and the numbers are the same or slightly up, suddenly the waist seems tighter. Mind over matter, I guess. I am keeping up with this combination drink/tea…hope to hear everyone’s update, DD don’t worry, like me, about the scale, just keep it up and see if you can tweak other areas, try something new every week and stick to it, for me it was drinking more water, another was cutting out regular soda, one more thing for me…drum roll, I quit smoking on Mar. 3 of this year and losing weight is going to be a little bit tougher for me. But I’m willing to try anything that works. Let’s find one thing a week to change. It can only help us. Isis, welcome on board, and thank you for reminding me about not gaining any weight, I get so focused on not losing, I forget an important fact… I’m not gaining, which is a good thing!
Comment by Karla — Friday, June 5, 2009 @ 9:16 am
Hi All,
I agree with Karla, we should not jump on the scale every morning…it only makes you lose patience….Yes, I do feel my clothes fitting better in the waist area. maybe this is the starting path….later on the loss will be visible…I will continuosly carry on for a few more months….it definitely makes me feel less tired and my skin and hair have changed for the better after years…..I think the weight loss comes a bit slowly….persistance seems to be the key………lets motivate each other to keep going and not lose patience..

Thanks, DD, guys, I’ve gotten into the habit of straining the tea before I put the honey in. I let the cinn. and water steep for about 20 mintues, stain out the slush (most times) and drink.
Comment by Karla — Tuesday, June 16, 2009 @ 5:28 am
That’s how I have been drinking the tea since the beginning. If you let the pot/vessel sit still, while it cools, the slime will settle at the bottom and you can pour out the liquid part into the cup very easily…no need to filter it. Then I add honey and drink it.

Hello, all. I’ve just read through all the comments, and have also learned a great deal about cinnamon & honey uses during this past year. I am in the United States, and ordered my cinnamon from Indus Organics. They only sell organic ceylon cinnamon. I received my cinnamon really quickly. It can be ordered on their website, or on Amazon. It’s wonderful, and was about the same price as the cinnamon (cassia, not ceylon) that I purchased @ Vitamin Cottage. I could not find ceylon cinnamon locally (not even @ Vitamin Cottage). Cassia cinnamon (which is sold in most stores in the United States)is really quite dangerous when too much is ingested on a regular basis. My son is a heart transplant patient, and therefore, cinnamon and honey has become my secret weapon when he becomes ill. I can tell you that it has worked wonders for him! When I “catch” whatever he has at the beginning, it truly does clear him up in 3 days time. Also, we use this for stomach aches. Works beautifully. One piece of advice: I DO NOT give either of my children RAW honey, as this can be extremely dangerous to children & immunosuppressed individuals. However, even without using raw honey, it works wonders! I also give it to my children in green tea, but only give the green tea to them during the 3 day course, as green tea is not something that should be given to children on a regular basis. Honey is wonderful for coughs as well, and was recommended to me by both Children’s Hospital, and our Pediatricians office, over cough syrup. According to their experience, they’ve had more success with honey than o.t.c. cough syrups. Also, in order to get the cinnamon down, we stir the mixture before every drink. This helps to not have the “glob” of cinnamon leftover @ the bottom. Hope this helps! I enjoyed reading all of your comments! :o))

Comment by Sandra — Sunday, June 28, 2009 @ 9:30 pm
Hi, Sandra.
The best way to do this is to use raw honey and ceylon cinnamon. However, it is not a good idea to use raw honey if you are an immunosuppressed individual. I also would not recommend raw honey for children (although many people do give their children raw honey). I have a heart transplant child, and am aware of the dangers that this can present with an immunosuppressed individual or a child. However, raw honey is the best to use for weight loss. I purchased my raw honey at a health food store, and I ordered my ceylon cinnamon through Indus Organics. Also, the individual who posted before you (#230.) sells raw honey. My prior post (#228.) gave the info. for Indus Organics. It is very important to use ceylon cinnamon, as the store bought (cassia) cinnamon is not real cinnamon. Ingesting too much cassia (more than 1 tsp./ day) can be toxic. Hope this helps! :o))

#235 - can’t say if once a day will work for weight lost, I’m drinking it 2x a day for a few months and although I’m not losing a massive amount…in fact not too much at all now, I’m not gaining anything. I quit smoking a few months back so I have to take that into consideration as well…My metabolism has slowed down a lot, but I feel great. I wake up feeling rested, I don’t have stiffness or anything. I feel (for a lack of a better word) very fluid very oh I can’t explain but this tea is def. working…my stomach feels so light, not that it’s gone down so much but it doesn’t feel so bloated as before. …thanks DD, Auntie LoLo, please advise why green tea should not be given to children on a daily baisis??? Really have me worried…I give naturally organic decaffinated green tea to my daughter every morning. I have started giving her regular honey in her tea …thinking this is a good thing and beneficial to her. Is organic cinnamon considered harmful? I have been using organic cinnamon from a health food store and raw honey. Your input is apprecaited.

Honey isn’t good for very young children - under a certain age and of course it has been so many years since I had a baby, I can’t remember the age. One year? Two? I’m sure the information on honey is out there on the internet somewhere.
Sorry I can’t advise on green tea - but it has caffeine - why would you want to give that to a child? I’d give her chamomile or peppermint tea instead … depending on whether you want her sleepy (chamomile) or pepped up (peppermint).

hi everyone…..
the best way to drink honey and cinnamon is to add 2 tablespoon of honey and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in the boiled water……i boil water first put in the cup and then put them….and then i just drink it with a saucer quickly so it stays hot and tastes good…..you will see results soon….
luv…

Hello, Karla. Regarding your post, #247; Not to worry about having given it daily thus far. I just wouldn’t give it to your child/ children on a regular basis anymore. I was also giving it to my children, for awhile, in hopes that my daughter & immunosuppressed son (heart transplant patient)would reap the benefits of green tea. He is not able to take very many vitamins, as no studies have been done on vitamins and heart transplant children. Therefore, our docs do not recommend anything more than a basic multi. In any case, the reason that you do not want to give green tea to children on a regular basis is due to the caffeine. Even the decaf has too much caffeine, and alot of times, more than stated. Therefore, not a good idea. Also, I have read that there is fluoride in green tea due to pollution, etc. and that this could cause too much fluoride in a child’s body, but I am not sure about this. :o(( In any case, don’t stress. I’m sure your child is fine. As I stated in post #228, I still give my son green tea, on occasion, with the cinnamon (1/4 tsp.) & honey (1 tsp., NOT raw)when he is ill, for 3 days in a row. I always make sure to catch it at the beginning of whatever they are coming down with. I also give them apple cider vinegar, as well. Works wonders for both of my children. Hope this helps! :o))

Sorry, Karla, I forgot to mention anything about the cinnamon. It is difficult to say whether or not your organic cinnamon is ceylon cinnamon or not. Organic does not necessarily mean that it is ceylon cinnamon. You would have to reference the company for that, but I would truly not give a child (or yourself, for that matter) anything other than ceylon cinnamon when giving for medicinal purposes. As far as cooking, etc., not a problem. However, for daily intake, I would make sure to find ceylon cinnamon only. I highly recommend Indus Organics cinnamon, as this is what I purchased, and it’s wonderful. It’s also reasonably priced. As I stated in post 228, I paid about the same price for organic ceylon cinnamon from Indus Organics, that I paid at Vitamin Cottage for organic cassia cinnamon (which is, of course, not real cinnamon, and toxic when too much is ingested).
Again, hope this helps, and my apologies for taking so long to respond. :o))

Regarding honey and young children; Do not give honey to children under 2 years of age. Many babies can become very ill from honey, even
a small amount. Certain young children can get botulism. This goes for all honey, processed or raw.

Hi all, thanks to Aunty LoLo and Linda. I give my daughter green tea from China not the regular tea bags found in the stores here, most times it’s from the tea leaves themselves. My tea does not have caffeine, but I will take everyone’s advice and slow down on her intake of tea..by the way she’s 10. Aunty LoLo, my prayers go out to you and your family. Thank you all for taking the time to help keep me better informed, Jav the tea seems to be working for you….please advise how long you’ve been using it and what your results are…DD how are you, dear. I have let my tea cool down a lot before I drink it but thanks to Jav, it’s back to hot tea for me. Take care all!

Hello, everyone. Thanks so much for the comments, thoughts & prayers. We appreciate it so much! Just wanted to update. As I’ve stated in previous posts, my son is a heart transplant patient. On Thursday, he woke up with a fever (101.9), headache, and some low back & neck soreness/ achiness. Took him to the Dr. Strep culture negative, influenza culture negative (WHEW! Thank goodness!). Apparently, just some type of virus. In any case, started with the arsenal of natural cures (in moderation, of course). Gave him apple cider vinegar (2 tsp. 1x/day), as well as basic multi-vitamin. Also gave him 1 C. decaf green tea with ceylon cinnamon (1/4 tsp.) & [pasteurized] honey (1 Tbsp.) 1x/day. On Fri., took him to our chiropractor. She recommended giving him an Epsom Salt bath (2 C. in bath water)in addition to what we were already doing. Got ok from Transplant Coordinator to do so. The fever broke on Fri. night @ 10:30 p.m. Gave him another Epsom Salt bath on Sat. Although he has been waking up feeling flemmy (Fri.,Sat.), but not sounding flemmy, he has not developed a cough, etc. Achiness & headache gone. He appears to have no symptoms of illness @ this point in time. Will give green tea, cinnamon & honey @ least 1 more day. I can tell you, without a doubt, if we catch whatever he is coming down with @ the beginning, the cinnamon & honey will stop it in its tracks. For example, in November ‘08, he became ill with a bug that produced a cough from the get go. I had just received the email about cinnamon & honey cures about 7 or 8 mos. prior to this. Thought we’d give it a try. I began giving he & my daughter the cinnamon & honey for three days straight, as recommended in email. Due to the fact that I was running low on honey, I did not take the mixture myself. I assumed I would be fine (as I was taking so many other vitamins, etc). He was completely well within 3 days time, my daughter never developed any illness, and I became so ill, I finally had to break down & see the Dr. for antibiotic. It went directly to my lungs. Lost my voice, had ugly cough, and extremely congested. Had not been that ill in a very long time. Cinnamon and honey (even pasteurized honey) does, indeed, work. The key is starting to take it at the very beginning of illness. The results we have experienced from it are truly amazing. It has done wonders for my children. Of course, I must make mention of the fact that God’s hand in everything is the TRUE KEY, here. He has lead us to so much information on natural cures, etc. He always has His feathers wrapped around our precious little son. May God bless each and everyone of you. May His feathers be wrapped around all of you. :O))

I’ve just tried this stuff for the second time. And for the second time, its made me SO awfully SICK. Only this time, it all came back up again. Yeah, that was rather painful.
I used the 1tsp cinn 2tsp honey 1 cup recipe, after first trying #8’s recipe. I’m surprised only I and 1 other user have gotten sick from this. Now I probably won’t ever look at a jar of cinnamon without gagging again…
Comment by Erica — Tuesday, September 15, 2009 @ 1:25 pm
I am still taking this and swear by it. I will make this “tea” part of my routine forever. My husband takes it only at night during the week and he has gone from a 42 to a 38 waist and his stomach has gone down a lot. Now, just so you all know I never get on a scale, and never have. I also wasn’t eating superbad before I started, but even when working out a ton a few years ago I couldn’t lose weight. Though I was walking a lot a few months back, I haven’t been at all lately. I have gone from an XL to a M/L…I feel super, my belly and my housekeepers belly have both gone down a lot and we are in our early 40s. Sometimes, quite often, I will get a loose bowl feeling. I buy my honey from Honey Pacifica here in CA…they have great videos about true raw, cold packed raw honey, and WHole Foods carries it locally, it can be ordered form their website as well, just search for honey pacific. I also make mine with green tea, don’t know if that makes a difference, at night I use decaf. I really feel that the biggest thing it does is suppress appetite, I just don’t seem as ravenous. ONce I stopped taking it for about a week and I noticed I was hungry a lot! I like the idea someone else had about using empty disposable tea bags for the cinnamon, I am going to try to find them. Also, at times I’ve left the cin/green tea sit overnight and then add a tiny bit of hot water and then add honey. I never add the raw honey to water that is too warm, and that goes for when I give it to my younger kids for their health.
I must make note that my overweight 15 year old son has not lost weight with this, I don’t know why? Maybe his diet is worse than mine? I still make him drink it every night and morning, maybe it will help overtime, so I can see where this doesn’t work for everyone, but I am guessing that it is a health choice as well. Good luck everyone!

I have been taking the mixture for about 2 weeks. I think I’ve lost about 5 lbs. And I feel much more energetic. I’ve been wondering tho’ how to take the mixture for more than one thing. For example for weight loss and say high blood pressure. Since the recipes are different for those two.
Comment by Milly — Tuesday, September 29, 2009 @ 10:43 am
Wish it was that simple. My instinct tells me this is just another useless fad. I personally haven’t tried it (maybe I will start today and post again in the future to tell you that it is, indeed, a miracle product?!), but if it were that easy, wouldn’t the human race (pharmaceutical companies especially) have been seriously onto it long before now? Cinnamon and honey are both yummy, and I know how much I love a drop of cinnamon essential oil in the bathtub, but folks, cinnamon is also a strong irritant (not surprised the remedy made someone seriously ill). Let’s stop kidding ourselves. The cold, hard truth is that the only real way to lose body fat is to absorb less calories than what you are burning on any given day…or get liposuction, I guess

I just wanted to see I’ve been reviewing this page for the past two days and have been intrigued. I purchased the ingredients and woke up feeling pretty great. I’m posting this site to all my friends and informing them of the benefits of Cinnamon & Honey. I’ll keep posting and update on any weight loss, cause I see that is a big question and it seems alot of ppl don’t follow-up after they say they will.

Just an update, i finally weighed myself, I was 143 but look so great as far as flabbiness and not exercising. I was almost 160 when I started, and was wearing XL everything (and even then the shirts were tight). I am no almost into M size things, I will wait a little while before buying any new clothes. My jeans are all baggy. My husband is now a 36 waist, from a 42. It has been slow going lately, but I continue to take the tea, it is now habit. Still not working for my teenage son, though…I think he has some serious metabolism issues, but perhaps it’s keeping him from getting heavier? I’ve had many friends say it makes them sick. Must only be 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, any more than that is bad for you, and if it makes you ill, try using less until you get used to it (less honey, as well), and straining is OH SO IMPORTANT, otherwise you get that slimy cinnamon on bottom. Also, I make mine fresh in the a.m., or sometimes I will make the cinnamon (and green tea, I use instead of water) the night before, then add hone in the a.m. to room temp tea. Good luck all! I am convinced this is great stuff, keep trying and don’t spend so much time looking at scales, and of course, I imagine you can’t eat anything you want. I don’t diet per se, but I don’t tend to overeat too much either.

Okay update, so far really impressed. Started Monday night and as of this morning lost 3.5lbs. I’ve been waking up feeling rested even if I hadn’t got to bed in a timely manner. Lets just say constipation hasn’t been an issue this week…LOL! I went from 2-3 van cokes a day to 1 or zero. Not craving them like I was and haven’t had any withdrawal like the last time I tried to quit soda. I’ve also tried to include more veggies and fruit in my mix. Still can’t seem to find something to make me want to eat breakfast in the morning which is a problem, I know that only slows your metabolism down. But I’ve been drinking a protein shake. Eating a Nature Valley bar at lunch, snack on yogurt or almonds in the later afternoon, Veggie or tomato soup with grilled cheese or tortilla wrap w/turkey, few baked lays and/or a baby bell cheese. So far so good! So far I’m optimistic and trudging the hill day by day. I’m not deluded into thinking this is a miracle cure for anything but it has been most helpful in my overall well being. We will see…I’ll keep you posted!

You need to have ceylon cinammon, becuase the cassia cinammon can be bad for you in those high dosages. I recommend that you use RAW honey, like Manuka. I’m gonna try this myself to see how much I can lose, along with healthy diet and a good bit of exercise. I believe this does work, seeing that is Ayurvedic and used for centuries. Not to mention the fact there are so many people with good results. Wish me luck! May it work for you guys too!! ~ Project:Bikini

CASSIA CINNAMON IS THE CULPRET BEHIND THE SLIME!!!!!!! i’ve tried now the CEYLON cinnamon, more expensive but it does NOT GELL UP! it’s not the honey because mine gelled before i added the honey. also, see earlier posts about cassia / common US cinnamon, having something in it which is toxic in large amounts…not sure why it gells up but it’s gross!

Add 1 level teaspoon of ground cinnamon to 2 heaping teaspoons of honey in a cup of boiled water. Drink the whole cup of mixture. Do not set aside half of the brew for the next morning as it will congeal and be unpleasant to the palate. Its’s much better to have a fresh cup.
Use brand cinnamon or bulk. It is a waste of time to grind a cinnamon stick. It’s hard on the fingertips.
I find I can still have a small snack such as crackers w/ cheese or peanut butter before bedtime. But, then I have another cup of tea and cinnamon a couple of hours later before bed. I have lost 9lbs in 8 days. I have not changed my diet one iota nor have I increased any excercise. Last thought, do not strain your mixture before drinking. You need all of it.
Comment by Frank Morgan — Sunday, February 7, 2010 @ 11:16 pm
One of you comments says any honey. The article that I read said it had to be live honey. Pure honey is pasturized and no longer has any enzimes. It also say no to mix the honey until the water has cooled or it will kill the enzimes.

All of you people looking for an easy weight loss solution-this is not going to work for you. Quick fixes, fad diets, it’s all the same. You might lose weight initially but it is your bad eating habits and sedentary lifestyles that make you fat.
Get off your butts, eat properly, and change your lives. Then you will find health and well-being. Not in a glass of honey and cinnamon.

i was reading health benefits of honey & cinnamon and it said boil
Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw Honey.
Boil 1 cup water, pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 30mins. add Honey after it cools. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey. drink 1/2 of this directly before going to be. the other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.

I did not buy the honey to lose weight. i got it because it was on sale for $1.00. When i put my pants on, they were loose. this stuff does work. I tried this a few weeks ago and noticed it did clear out my intestines! lol, but i also noticed i went down 2 lbs. Maybe all that junk built up inside? I already eat healthy for the most part and walk 3 miles almost every day. i didn’t change anything about my diet or exercise while drinking the mixture. I stopped for no reason really and noticed the weight came back just as quickly as it had gone. So today i will start up again. I just bought raw organic honey and i use Watkins cinnamon because its certified organic. Hope to loose more weight! & I actually like that it really clears out my insides! it makes me feel lighter!
good luck to all!

Today is day 3, thatI started cinnamon tea. I am using cinnamon sticks and pure honey (until I find raw honey). Tea comes out a little too strong,(is it too much cinn) but it tastes great with honey. Not sure how strong I need to make the cinn-tea, how many sticks to use for a cup or 2. Do sticks work better than cin-powder, and how dark does the tea have to be, so far my tea results are: I do not get hungry,no appetite but I make myself eat something healthy. I also have been feeling more energy since started taking tea. I exercise daily, hoping to loose some inches soon.
I tried the 1 tsp. cinn, and 2 tsp honey paste then added water as suggested, couldn’t drink it.I decided to stick to the cinnamon sticks. Please advice on amt of cin sticks or how strong tea has to be? thanks.

Nothing else is going on in my life to make me feel like this so I am thinking it’s the honey & cinnamon. Also, I don’t feel bloated and I notice my pants I always wear for work are fitting more comfortably. I can’t wait to see what results will show up in a few weeks! i have tried to eat better, but I haven’t changed my eating habits much… I still try to work out at least 30 mins a day.
i would love to hear everyone else’s progress!

Hi,
About two years ago,I did a modified weightwatchers plan where I was allowed 23 points a day. I was about 135, and lost 10lbs.
I had a daily diet of:
1) 8oz cup of black coffee with 1 tsp of ground cinnamon(no sugar) with oatmeal (any flavor, no sugar) for breakfast
2) a south beach diet meal for lunch
3) anything for dinner
4) snacks ranged from candy to chips to special K bars.
The only exercise I did during this time was a once a week bellydance class.
I lost about 10 lbs in about 1 month and a half. I was great, felt great.
I got married last year, and over the past 8 months packed on 25lbs!! I feel horrible, fat, tired, bloated, depressed. I decided I want to try it again.
I am not sure if it was the coffee with cinnamon, or the cinnamon alone, or just everything I was eating..but I need to lose this weight. I have PCOS, and the doctor said its going to be harder for me to get pregnant with all my bellyfat, I also have high cholesterol(263!!!). I started the coffee+ cinnamon, + oatmeal yesterday…but .. and lost 2 lbs! (not sure if that was regular fluctuation).. but.. I think I will try that for about a week, and then try this honey+cinnamon.. I am excited to see other people have lost weight with cinnamon.. so.. I will let you know!

I always go off and on this ‘diet’ and while i am drinking the mixture i do notice added flatness to my stomach, and i think its because the cinnamon and honey mixture clears out your intestines….not to sound gross but i notice i have more bowel movements while taking it. i think that’s why you loose weight or inches. but it does clear you out and make you feel more energized because you don’t have all that waste inside!

Here are the answers to most questions:
I don’t think this is a useless fad diet, honey is really health beneficial.
My mother used to make cinnamon tea for me all the time growing up and if you do it correctly it’s very tasty. I boil cinnamon sticks or put cinnamon powder in my coffee maker. If it turns slimy you’re using too much cinnamon. And it doesn’t matter what cinnamon you use as long as you don’t eat the remains
For the honey, raw honey is of course better than regular honey but any honey is better than none. Wait till the cinnamon tea cools down, so that it doesn’t kill the enzymes and all the other good stuff in the honey, and then add the honey, doesn’t really matter how much, just make it as sweet as you like. It’s tea people you can’t really screw it up.
Lastly, drink it warm, never cold. The warmth “melts” the fat so to say as opposed to making it harden up with the cold

Oh and to the pessimistic people saying to get off our asses and eat healthy, most of us already do! This is a great tea to add to an already healthy lifestyle. Stop being negators nobody wants to read your ridiculous comments. Everyone else keep it up
but stop trying to lose weight so fast it’s not healthy
